cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdd2 sdd2_crypt

List Volume groups

vgscan

List Logical volumes

lvscan

"open" (activate) a volume group

To open a named volume group pass the name of the volume group to vgchange.

vgchange -a y hansportable

mounting a partition within an active volume group

mount /dev/hansportable/root /mnt
